    I think my action is a bit on the lower side and I need to work suggestion 3! My fingers are a bit stiff making the chord shapes!

    My first thoughts/questions are

    1. Is your “action” too low? This is set at the bridge.

    2. Is your bass neck too convex? This can be set by altering the truss rod tension.

    3. Are you fretting close enough to the fret wire?

    The cause could be any combination of the above.
